This a magical place wrapped up in ancient rock, thimbleberries and the unforgiving waters of Superior. Think of it as the Keweenaw Peninsula’s greatest hits. The daily destination will depend on wind direction and wave heights a great deal. You have great choices: touring the North side’s agate beaches, Eagle Harbor or the spectacular stacks along Betegris to Montreal Falls all could be on the list. You could be lucky enough to have good swimming conditions and calm days all the way around, but just in case you don’t, Uncommon Adventures requires that beginners take a capsize recovery class through them prior to this trip. To further insure your safety and maintain the flexibility of small groups, this trip is limited to only six participants. Get ready for a really great time on the Keweenaw!

Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Rendezvous at Copper Harbor (lodging provided) between 7:00-9:00pm for orientation.
Day 2: After a hearty breakfast, head out on one of the shorter trips to get your “Superior legs” and enjoy a beach picnic along the way.
Day 3: Weather depending, this day may be used to take a nice long paddle (about ten miles) down to the mouth of the Montreal and back, lingering along the rocky stacks and cliff faces. Maybe you’ll even catch a glimpse of the Peregrin Falcon’s seen in the past.
Day 4: After breakfast, take on one of the slightly shorter paddle trips to stretch out tired muscles from the day before and linger in some of the great nooks and crannies along the beaches. Be back on land in time for jump on your drive home or another exploration…such as Uncommon Adventures' Isle Royale trip that begins directly after this trip!
