Meet Journeys' Managers - they are ready to book your trips, rent you a kayak, take you fishing, shelling or birding, rent you a power boat or just show you the beautiful black water creeks in the Apalachicola River Basin.

He has a 200-ton Master’s license, is ACA certified kayak instructor and is currently learning the business of running an eco-tourist company. Justin has an incredible amount of experience on the water, loves people and nature and fits right in with the Journeys' team. Justin loves to deep sea fish and now leads most of the tours and the deep sea fishing trips. Come meet Justin at Journeys and let him book you a trip and tell you some sea stories.
Operations Manager - Dale Kingon. Jeanni fondly refers to Dale as the new her – just with less hair. As Jeanni starts to spend more time traveling around the world adventuring Dale will take over the day-to-day operations of Journeys. Dale has a degree in Communications from North Carolina State University and arrived at Journeys after stints in the area as a teacher and reporter for the local paper. He loves to go diving, paddling, play soccer and surf. Dale is married to Kelly, a marine biologist at the FSU Coastal and Marine Lab.

Journeys of St. George Island is co-owned and operated by Jeanni McMillan and her son Justin McMillan. Jeanni has been exploring the wild side of the panhandle for over 30 years and brings her love of nature and this diverse eco-system to you, our visitor. Sharing and protecting this beautiful eco-system has become her favorite pastime and vocation. She is running the administrative side of the business while grooming the crew until she can take off permanently to countries unexplored. If she isn’t in some foreign country she will book you a trip, sell you a kayak or teach your children about the local eco systems. Jeanni has a degree from Florida State University and is a licensed captain, dive master, teacher, lifeguard and naturalist.
“This is my 16th year in the eco-tourist business. My love for teaching and the environment have evolved into my passion, saving this beautiful unique river and bay by active education. Let us take you on an adventure, which will feed your spirit, mind, body and heart forever...” ~ Jeanni
Captain Randy Pert is a native born Floridian who was raised on the water and has spent thousands of days fishing and scuba diving. He is a well known "Light Tackle and Fly Fishing Guide" through out the Big Bend. He also is a co-host of the popular fishing show "The Big Bend Angler". Capt. Randy's instructional fishing seminars have helped many anglers to improve their fishing technique. His years of experience on Florida's waters have made him a very popular fishing guide.
Nick Krasovskiy, Chase Adams and Dan Harper (not pictured: Chris Dixon) work for Journeys leading kayak trips, kid’s adventures and doing on anything that needs to be done during the busy summer months. We hope to have these hard workers back to help out during the upcoming 2008 season.
| Captain Dave Harbaugh with Cobia
Captain Dave Harbaugh is one of Journeys’ tour guides. He and his lovely wife, Beth Appleton, have been part of the Journeys family since the beginning, almost 17 years ago. Dave has led thousands of trips to Little St. George, St. Vincent Island and up the Apalachicola River. As a result Dave is one of our most knowledgeable guides, feel free to ask him about any shell or the history of the area.
Dave is also happy to take the time to teach your children a little bay fishing with a Fish and Fun add on to any tour. But he can just as easily entertain you and your special someone on a romantic sunset tour, complete with oysters on the half shell shucked fresh from the bay.
| Captain George Ward with Redfish
Captain George Ward is a Journeys Bay Fishing guide. George is a homegrown fisherman with decades and decades of seafood experience running in his family tree. Son of well-known local seafood distributor Buddy Ward, George still spends time helping with the family business when not running trips for Journeys.
George has countless hours on the bay; fishing, harvesting oysters, catching shrimp and cast-netting mullet.
To get a true sense of the bounty this bay has to offer, book George for a Bounty of the Bay tour. He will help you cast net for mullet, pull crab traps, and tong for oysters. This trip usually nets more than enough food for your family’s dinner.
| Captain Grayson with Tarpon
Captain Grayson Shepard is a Journeys’ tour and fishing guide. Grayson is a long time resident of Franklin County and has spent as many hours as possible fishing in the bay and offshore.
Grayson, an avid spear-fisherman, will gladly take you fishing for sharks in West Pass or shelling on the beaches of Little St. George Island.
Grayson splits his time fishing with selling real estate in the area. Be sure to take the opportunity to book him for a shark fishing trip if he is available. Who knows what else you might catch as Grayson has been known to hook into more than one tarpon on his shark fishing trips.
| Captain Travis
Captain Travis Huckabee has been a Journeys fishing guide for the last three years. Travis specializes in fly and flats fishing on the Apalachicola Bay. Travis’ night job as a Florida Fish and Wildlife officer ensures that your time on the water will be both fun and legal. Travis is married and has three children.
